Garri.
Garri, a popular food, primarily comes from the processing of cassava, a major carbohydrate source and staple food. Cassava is widely cultivated and has numerous derivatives that play a significant role in industrial food processing and commercial use.
Cassava can be processed into various food products, including garri (cassava flakes), Fufu (also known as Akpu or Santana), Bobozee (commonly referred to as Abacha Mmiri), and snack chips.
Many Nigerians enjoy soaking garri to create an instant cereal. Despite rumors that “soaking garri used to blind eyes,” it is a nutritious food source that provides a substantial amount of energy. There is no evidence to suggest that consuming soaked garri can cause blindness.
